The week of March 18 - 22 is National Water Week.  The Municipality will be celebrating a Water Week Awareness Campaign at Gwadu Zenex Primary School in Embo on 19/03/13 in an effort to get youngsters to look after this precious resource.

The National Water Week Awareness Campaign seeks to focus attention on water as a scarce and precious commodity in the country.

Celebrated under this year’s theme: WATER IS LIFE: RESPECT IT, CONSERVE IT, SHARE IT and ENJOY IT, the National water week aims to:
  • Raise awareness around the need to conserve and protect water resources
  • Encourage everyone to use water sparingly at all times
  • Call upon all citizens to ensure each person uses water wisely and sparingly at all times
  • Remind citizens that South Africa is a water scarce country and that water is a finite resource
