A major pipeline supplying Chatsworth area has burst. Municipal Water and Sanitation teams are busy on site repairing the pipeline, but they have encountered further problems due to wet soil condition and electrical cables in the close proximity.
Few lengths of pipe need to be replaced and needs to be done manually, as excavators cannot be utilised due to ground conditions. The Municipality is utilizing all its resources to repair this main as soon as possible.

This shut will affect the following areas:
• Silverglen
• Bayview
• Umhlatuzana
• Parts of Westcliffe

Members of the public are requested not to:
i. Wash vehicles
ii. Leave standpipes running
iii. Water gardens
iv. Waste water in any way. Shower in place of bathing, close the tap when brushing etc.

This restriction is for the next of 48 hours. We urge you to use water sparingly.
The Municipality is trying to supply the above affected areas from another zone where possible to reduce the impact.

Areas with water interruption will be assisted with water tankers to the best of our ability.
