The eThekwini Municipality’s Business Support, Tourism and Markets Unit is calling all “model” citizens interested in strutting their stuff at Durban’s premier fashion event - the Durban Fashion Fair – to an open casting and model scouting day on Friday, June 28, 2013.
This big day will be divided in two – we’ll be meeting new faces in the morning and professional models in the afternoon. (Please come at the correct time as indicated below as those who do not attend the correct sessions will be turned away).
New Faces (9am – 12noon): Because we are scouting for new talent, you don’t need experience or photographs and you don’t need to be represented by a modelling agency. You will be trained by a professional to walk on a runway.
Our female new comers must be over the age of 16 (please bring proof of your age), be at least 1.75cm tall without heals and have a hip measurement of 90-92cm. Please wear minimal make up and body fitting clothing and heels to the casting. No jeans, please.
Our aspiring male models need to be over 18 (please bring proof of your age), in good physical shape and a minimum of 1.83cm tall. We are looking for guys with a trouser size of 30/32. Please wear a fitted t-shirt or shirt and closed shoes or trainers.
Professional Models (1pm – 4pm): This section is for models with past experience in professional fashion shows who already have agency representation and possess Z-Cards.
Please note that all selected models must be available for fittings, rehearsals and shows from 19 to 24 August, 2013. The Durban Fashion Fair will take place from August 22 to 25.
The casting will take place at the Embizweni Room, 18 Osborne Street, Greyville on Friday, 28 June 2013.
