The public are reminded that meetings to discuss the upgrade of the Bluff Beaches begin tomorrow. The first meeting will be taking place at the Brighton Beach Primary School tomorrow, 12 November, at 18h30. This is in preparation for the upgrade of Ansteys, Brighton, Treasure and the Cuttings Beaches.
EThekwini Municipality is beginning the community participation process to determine the needs of the communities who use the beaches on the Bluff before drawing up the design concept. The project is currently at inception stage. Once a plan has been developed, budgets will be finalised for the implementation of the project.
The area is considered as a key node for the development of tourism, and the Municipality would like to hear what the challenges and opportunities are so that they could be taken into consideration when the plan is developed.
A presentation of the draft plan will be made to the public once this is complete, to get further input before a final plan is drawn up.
Other community meetings are planned for 14 November at Merebank Community Hall, and on 19 November at Austerville Community Hall. Meetings will begin at 18h30
