His Worship the Mayor, Cllr James Nxumalo, in partnership with PRASA, and KwaMnyandu Shopping Centre Pty Ltd, cordially invites members of the media to attend the launch of the KwaMnyandu Nodal Development and Sod Turning Ceremony.
 
The new shopping centre will be a jewel for residents of Umlazi with 42 000 households out of 132 000 within a 3km radius of the centre. It will also incorporate the second busiest train station in Durban, with 25 000 daily commuters, and numbers expected to grow as the KwaMnyandu node is developed. The centre will have an intermodal transport facility that will allow commuters and shoppers easy access between taxis and rail.
 
The shopping centre development brings with it a host of infrastructure and public realm upgrades linking the King Zwelithini Stadium, the shopping centre and the Mangosuthu University of Technology and opportunities for job creation.
