Metro Police in Chatsworth have arrested three suspected burglars after following their vehicle to the Havenside Shopping Centre today. The suspects, who are Kenyan nationals, were wanted for three cases of housebreaking.
Senior Supt, Eugene Msomi said, ‘Metro Police received information at the Chatsworth CPF meeting recently, pertaining to a black BMW 3 series with registration NUR30737 whose occupants where behaving suspiciously. This info was circulated to all our members.”
“This morning, at about 09h00, Inspector Raju and Constable Ramiah were patrolling the Havenside area when they spotted the above vehicle upon Havenside Dr. They followed the vehicle into Havenside Shopping Centre where they were arrested. Upon investigation it was found that these suspects were wanted for housebreaking in the Bayview area, and were arrested for being in possession of stolen goods.”
With the assistance of SAPS members the suspect’s residence was searched and goods to the value of approximately R10 000 was recovered.
The vehicle was impounded, goods booked in at Bayview SAPS and suspects are detained at Chatsworth SAPS.
