The Durban Business Fair exhibition space is now officially sold out and has reached full space occupancy. Registration for exhibition closed on 28 June 2013. The Fair exhibition will take place on 20 – 22 September 2013 at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

A total space of 3240m2 was available for booking and it has been sold out within the set deadline of 28 June 2013, which is earlier than the previous editions of the Fair. This is a clear indication of the growing interest in the Fair from the business community and relevant stakeholders.

The growing interest in the Fair, which marks the celebration of 15 years of Growing Sustainability, is also in line with its growth in stature and impact.
Head of Business Support, Tourism and Markets Unit, Phillip Sithole said early registration from businesses should be encouraged and applauded because it allows for more time towards planning a world-class exhibition.
“The Durban Business Fair is one of the City’s flagship programmes aimed at creating a platform for business growth and development. As the custodians of economic development within eThekwini, we are pleased that our business community and relevant stakeholders are now taking full advantage of such platforms created for their growth opportunities,” Sithole said.

As part of celebrating 15 years of Growing Sustainability the Fair will be giving away many exciting prizes to exhibitors and visitors. There will also be new exciting features such as the Buyers Trade Evenings, Bizassist networking event, Live Music Concert as well as technological innovations to ease exhibition navigation for visitors and exhibitors.
Good news is that registration is still open for the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) 19th International Conference on Small and Medium Enterprises (ICSME) on the 18 -21 September 2013 at Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre. This conference is hosted by the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) in partnership with eThekwini Municipality and it is facilitated by Osiba Management.
The theme of the Conference is “Beyond the downturn – revitalising the global economy through small and medium enterprises”. The Conference will feature panellists who will be dealing with various best practice topics – enterprise development and access to finance.

A limited number of exhibitors who completed their registration early for the Durban Business Fair will be subsidised to attend the Conference complimentarily. This will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Exhibitors who qualify for this subsidy will be notified.
